10 of the Best Hardcore Anti-Abortion Anthems

AndyFebruary 4, 2015February 4, 2015

Here’s a collection of the best metal/hardcore pro-life songs. Most of these songs either sound hardcore, or have an unapologetically anti-abortion message. This is a collection of anthems – battle cries if you will, for those who have dedicated their lives to the abolition of abortion. I will update this post as I come across more. In no particular order –

Underoath – Burden in Your Hands

This is my favorite abolitionist song. Not everyone will appreciate the genre of music (metalcore/post-hardcore). However there is no subject I can think of that is more fitting to be sung about in this chilling, disturbing way.

You really need to read the lyrics of this song to get its full weight. Click here for the lyrics.

Grammatrain – Execution

This song is sung from the perspective of the preborn victim of abortion.

Focal Point – Homicide

Focal Point was a band that lasted from 1996 – 1997, but is notable for featuring Ryan Clark on guitar. Ryan would later go on to be lead vocalist for alternative metal/metalcore band Demon Hunter. This song is pretty rough, but the lyrics are strong.

The Crucified – Silent Scream

“Does only God / And my heart / Hear the babies silent scream?”

Galactic Cowboys – If I Were a Killer

P.O.D. – Abortion is Murder

This is a really simple, raw song which pretty much just repeats the shouted chorus over and over again: “Abortion is murder!”. You can hear my friend Bryan Kemper leading the “abortion is murder” chorus in the beginning of the song.

Barren Cross – Killers of the Unborn

No Innocent Victim – Pro-Kill

Here’s the chorus for this hard-to-find pro-life song: “If you’re pro-choice, you’re pro-kill!.” This song is from No Innocent Victim’s album entitled “No Compromise.” The video below contains the entire album. However “Pro-Kill” starts at 16:33.

I couldn’t find lyrics for this song.

Slayer – Silent Scream (Explicit)

I just heard this very direct, pounding track from thrash metal band Slayer today when searching for more songs to add to this collection.

Iron Maiden – 2 Minutes to Midnight

This song makes strong references to the violence done to the unborn, but these seem to be a little convoluted with anti-war sentiments.

Bonus: Here’s a few non-hardcore pro-life songs that I like also.

Nick Cannon – Can I Live?

This is a powerful, powerful music video with great lyrics. This is the best pro-life song that was recorded by the most high-profile artist that I am aware of.

Flipsyde – Happy Birthday

This music video is roughly in the same genre as Nick Cannon’s “Can I Live?.” It tells the gut-wrenching story of the regret and shame of a post-abortive father.

Christafari – Protestors

If Bob Marley was an abortion abolitionist, this is what his songs may have sounded like.

King’s X – Legal Kill

Sex Pistols – Bodies (Explicit)

This song will be offensive to many and is full of profanities – and yet it clearly and strongly speaks of the humanity of the victim and the violence being done to her.

Am I missing any good songs? Let me know in the comments.

Wikipedia has a list of songs about abortion. It includes both pro-abortion and pro-life songs.
